A workshop at the Payroll.org Annual Congress — it is a wrap!

On May 16, 2025, Eric Skidmore, President of Nine Peaks Solutions, presented a workshop at Payroll.Org’s 43rd Annual Congress in Orlando, Florida — an event that gathered payroll professionals from across industries, disciplines, and experience levels.

Payroll Congress is widely recognized as the premier training and networking event for payroll and HR professionals. Each year, it brings together experts and practitioners for topical workshops covering compliance, payroll operations, global payroll, emerging technologies, and professional development. The 2025 Congress continued this tradition, offering attendees valuable insights and actionable strategies for navigating the rapidly evolving payroll landscape.

Eric’s workshop, “Fill the Gap: History and Compliance Data From the Old to the New HCM System,” focused on one of the most challenging and often overlooked aspects of system migration: ensuring historical and compliance data remains accessible, trustworthy, and usable within a new Human Capital Management (HCM) platform.

When organizations transition to a new HCM system, technical configuration and go-live planning usually take center stage. However, teams frequently grapple with a key question: How do we bring forward years of payroll history, time punches, compensation records, and compliance-critical data without rebuilding the legacy system’s parameters and codes?

Eric’s session explored:

  • Practical strategies for migrating essential history and compliance information without replicating outdated system structures.

  • How organizations can prepare for compliance inquiries — especially those that require detailed time, rate, and pay history.

  • The future of payroll data expectations and how to anticipate what regulators, auditors, and internal stakeholders will need long after a system migration is complete.

  • Approaches that reduce risk, streamline access to historical data, and support cleaner, more efficient operations inside the new HCM environment.

By highlighting both current requirements and emerging trends, Eric provided attendees with a roadmap for maintaining compliance, ensuring data continuity, and setting up their new HCM system for long-term success.

Nine Peaks Solutions is proud to support Payroll and HR teams as they navigate complex technology transitions.

Nine Peaks Solutions Sponsors & Attends WMCA Conference

This week Nine Peaks attended & sponsored the Washington Municipal Clerks Association (WMCA) Annual Conference in Blaine, WA. We are proud to be a Platinum sponsor for this organization’s conference and to support their mission of promoting professional and educational standards for municipal clerks. During the conference our group was busy meeting with new organizations on behalf of Laserfiche, the premier records management solution.

The theme of the conference was Superclerks. As part of the conference’s Wednesday night dinner, everyone attending was invited to dress as their favorite Superhero. For the annual banquet on Thursday evening, everyone was to dress as the Superhero’s alter ego (i.e. almost normal).

Note:  Captain Laserfiche did made his inaugural appearance at the Wednesday night Superhero banquet on behalf of Nine Peaks Solutions.
